I´m Simon.
Born in 1994 in Erlangen, Germany, I grew up in boring but charming Middle Franconia, where I formed a band called “Die Zauberbarbies” (The Magical Barbies), which had huge potential according to my mom. Unfortunately, we had to break up when I moved to Frankfurt to study International Business. But always feeling happiest on a stage, I started going to open mics on my own outside of class, performing stand-up comedy.
After graduating from university in Frankfurt, I moved to Hamburg to become a copywriter. For more than seven years, I worked for Germany’s most creative ad agencies, where I developed ideas and campaigns for major brands like McDonald’s or Audi. I always enjoyed writing film scripts and coming up with funny ideas. But eventually, I started missing the crowd, the stage, and the direct feedback of an audience.
This is how I discovered the job of wedding speaker, which immediately seemed like an obvious fit for me. In 2024, I completed training during my free time, earning a certificate from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Germany (IHK), granting me the title of “Free Speaker (IHK).”
What I love most about this job is combining the two things I’m most passionate about: writing heartfelt, creative speeches about couples and delivering them on one of the most important days of their lives.
For me, there’s nothing better than making people laugh, cry, and make their stories come alive with words. It’s the biggest gift life has given me, and I can’t wait to get to know you and help make your dream wedding in Japan come true.
Japan
The Country I fell in Love with
You only know what you had when it’s gone.
I vividly remember the first time I landed at Narita Airport back in 2015, riding the Narita Express to my homestay in Asakusa. I was on a two-week hiatus between semesters abroad in South Korea and New Zealand and wanted to use the time to fulfill a childhood dream: a trip to Japan.
“This feels different.”
I can’t say exactly what it was. The mysterious writing everywhere? The streetlights making bird sounds? The humble friendliness of the Japanese people? It all just felt right to me. I walked the streets smiling like a maniac, and when I boarded the plane to Auckland, I had only one thought in my mind: I need to come back. That feeling stayed with me throughout my semester in New Zealand. It lingered during my three-month internship in Malaysia after that, and it followed me everywhere when I returned to Germany.
“This is love.”
I came back many more times after that. I visited the snowy north of Otaru as well as Japan’s southernmost point in Hateruma. I survived earthquakes in Tokyo and a typhoon in Ishigaki. And each time I had to leave, I was already counting the days until my next trip. It was clear to me: I needed to move to Japan.
So, I started studying Japanese. In April 2019, I began waking up three hours before work every day, using every free minute I had to watch Japanese YouTubers, cram Kanji, and read Japanese literature on my Kindle. In 2025, the dream finally came true. I left everything behind, gave up my job, and moved to the other side of the world.
Now, I want to share my love for this country with you. There’s a vibe unique to Japan, and I believe it’s the perfect place to celebrate the most important day of your life. If you’ve ever been here, I’m sure you know what I’m struggling to put into words. If you haven’t, I´d love to show you.
Your Free Wedding in Japan
What is a free wedding ceremony and why might it be the perfect choice for you?
The most important thing to know is this: we can design the ceremony however you want. There are no limits—whether it’s the location, the structure, the vibe, or even the speech itself. You have complete freedom! As your wedding speaker, I’ll guide and support you every step of the way. Together, we’ll create a ceremony that’s as unique and personal as your love story. Whether it’s with guests or just the two of you, at a beautiful venue, under the open sky, or at a place that holds special meaning for you—romantic, humorous, formal, relaxed, with music or without—it’s entirely up to you.
Because this is your day.
In most free ceremonies, the highlight is often the exchange of rings. But even this tradition isn’t set in stone. If you’d prefer something different, we can incorporate an alternative ritual into the ceremony. It’s all about making sure the day reflects your wishes and feels just right for you.
To make that happen, conversations and personal meetings between us are key. For me as your wedding speaker, it’s important to really get to know you and introduce myself as well. That’s the only way we can craft a ceremony that’s truly tailored to you as a couple.
You’re probably wondering about the cost of a free wedding ceremony. Since everything is customized to fit your needs, the costs are also calculated individually. In a personal consultation, we can go over all the factors that influence the price. Of course, the initial meeting is completely free and non-binding.
